Dueling Pianos and a Party Atmosphere at The Bar at Times Square
The Bar at Times Square at New
York New York Hotel & Casino has been rated the number one dueling
piano show in Las Vegas, a coveted distinction in a town of dueling piano bars. It has the feel of a neighborhood pub and is
always bustling with people dancing and drinking, even on Monday nights.
The dueling pianists play a little bit of everything and
seem to know every song and style of music.
Songs played range from the songs that you might expect like Billy Joel and
Elton John’s piano hits to more surprising and non-traditional selections like
Queen, Journey, AC/DC, and Metallica, but it comes at a price, so make sure you
came with cash if you want to hear your favorite song. If you’re looking for a peaceful evening of
piano music, this is not the place for you, with people standing shoulder to
shoulder and singing along at the top of their lungs. The atmosphere is definitely all party all
the time, so be prepared to dance and sing your night away.
It costs more to sit at a table than it does to stand (and
if you do want to sit at a table, it
is highly advisable that you make a reservation in advance), but once you’re
there, chances are you won’t want to sit anyways so that you can join in on all
the fun. There is also bar-top gaming and
14 flat screen televisions so that you can gamble and check the score on your
favorite game while you enjoy a drink and the sounds of live music.
Although they may be best known for their dueling piano
show, they also offer “The Sax Man” every Sunday through Wednesday from 3 PM
until 7 PM with free admission. For
locals, there is always free admission with a local ID, with the exception of
special events. Their happy hour runs
from 4 PM until 8 PM Monday through Friday, offering $5 house wine, shooters,
specialty cocktails, Heineken drafts, and 50 percent off of select food menu. They also offers shot specials, beer buckets,
a unique cocktail menu, and a limited food menu.
The Bar at Times Square is a fun change of pace from the
stuffy nightclubs that line the Strip, offering a unique alternative to the
classic casual party spots like Rockhouse
and Coyote Ugly. Whether you love
dueling piano bars, pubs, or you just love an evening of raucous fun, The Bar
at Times Square is certain to please.
